Corten Steel Sheet Production Process
Corten steel sheets are produced through a meticulous process that includes controlled rolling, regulated cooling, and enhancement of corrosion resistance. Premium-quality raw materials are selected and processed using advanced hot rolling techniques. Post-rolling, the sheets are cooled under precisely managed conditions to enhance mechanical strength and durability.
To initiate the formation of a protective surface layer, the sheets are exposed to atmospheric conditions. This exposure triggers a natural oxidation process that forms a rust-like patina, which acts as a protective barrier against further corrosion. Every sheet undergoes rigorous quality testing to ensure uniform thickness, high tensile strength, and long-term durability.
These sheets are manufactured in compliance with global standards such as ASTM A242 / ASME SA242, along with other specifications including JIS, AISI, ASTM, GB, DIN, and EN, ensuring consistent performance and reliability. The product range includes thicknesses from 0.5mm to 100mm, widths from 1000mm to 2500mm, and customizable lengths according to client specifications.
